Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while officials has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing penalties," was stated in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty rockets struck the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Regional authorities said the city endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and multiple civilians were injured.

The strikes follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

He said energy workers and government agencies were preparing for more assaults.
